Description:
LEAD COMMERCIAL PROPERTY AND BUSINESS INTERRUPTION SURVEYOR
- Play a pivotal role in mitigating business interruption risks for a reputable, customer-centric insurer.
- Contribute to the advancement of our commercial growth strategy.
- Remote role with UK-wide travel – package includes car allowance or company car scheme.
Responsibilities:
Join NFU Mutual as the Lead Business Interruption Surveyor and play a crucial role in enhancing our approach to business interruption risk management. In this position, you’ll provide expert technical insight and thought leadership across all aspects of Business Interruption (BI) risk management, supporting our expanding portfolio across a diverse range of commercial sectors, beyond just farming.
This is a brand-new role within the team where you’ll research, develop, and implement comprehensive risk management strategies, procedures, and standards for corporate and BI surveying. Your expertise will be essential in shaping a sustainable and profitable BI risk appetite. Additionally, you’ll lead efforts to transfer knowledge, skills, and expertise to the Loss Control Surveyors, Underwriting, and Agency colleagues.
You’ll conduct detailed BI and other corporate surveys on larger and more complex risks, offering in-depth risk management advice to mitigate potential losses. Collaboration is key in this role, as you’ll build and maintain strong relationships with senior management within clients’ businesses, as well as with internal teams, including Underwriting, Claims, Agents, and other NFU Mutual colleagues.
The role is home-based and requires significant travel across the UK (including Northern Ireland, Scotland, and the Isle of Man) for surveys, client visits, team meetings, and external events. You can expect to be on the road several days each week, with the flexibility to plan your travel and work schedules in advance.
