Responsibilities:

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE OF THE ROLE:

The Lead Commissioning Engineer will have responsibility for technical commissioning aspects of projects at varying locations throughout H&MV territories.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reporting and Liaising with operations manager on upcoming projects and ongoing projects
  • Live reporting to Project managers and project commissioning engineer during commissioning.
  • Responsible for input to project programmes and monitoring of same throughout commissioning stages.
  • Providing project overview and specification to commissioning engineers before commissioning kick-off.
  • Managing Commissioning team, ensuring adequate resources are available.
  • Working with the HR Department to facilitate team annual performance reviews, ensuring provision of required training and continual professional development for the Commissioning Department.
  • Schedules and conducts monthly commissioning team meetings.
  • Test equipment logistics and scheduling between different projects when required.
  • New test equipment specification, purchase and hire, upkeep of H&MV equipment, ensure equipment calibration schedule is followed.
  • Manage FAT tests for crucial equipment with project managers.
  • Review commissioning plans and commissioning packs before project kick off.
  • Review ongoing RFI for live projects.
  • Review of design and drawings for small works.
  • Attend project kick-off meetings and project monthly meetings during commissioning stages.
  • Attend projects on an ongoing basis to review safety, progress and resolve issues.
  • Assist with any requests from tendering department for tender programmes and technical information.
  • Review and control of commissioning sub-contractors.
  • Assist asset management team with technical services and queries.
  • Conduct interviews with HR department for additional department resources.
