YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO TENNET

We are seeking a passionate and inspiring Lead Corporate Communications in the Netherlands with a clear vision on strategic communication. You will play a crucial role in strengthening TenneT’s positioning and reputation, both nationally and internationally. You are responsible for future-proof communication strategies covering key topics that bring forward TenneT’s strategy. You are completely at ease in a position with a strong external orientation. You actively establish contacts and participate proactively in explorations to bring in external insights. You are the driving force behind the Corporate Communication team and also streamlining and organising the function itself and related communication deliverables, as well as setting priorities. Key to success is ensuring a high-performing team and fostering collaboration within and beyond the Public Affairs and Communications Unit. This role involves coaching and inspiring the team while actively contributing to daily activities across and outside TenneT (around 60% of your time).

Responsibilities:

ROLE OBJECTIVE

  • Lead one of the three essential teams within the new Communication Department structure to advance growth and excellence;
  • Foster a unified PUC mindset (OnePUC) and ensure integrated and excellent operating processes in partnership with the management team of the Communication Department;
  • Translate the company’s strategy and goals into a comprehensive communication strategy and direct and guide positioning of C-suite executives;
  • Anticipate and navigate strategic and political developments, driving an integrated PUC approach with proactive communication initiatives;
  • Evolve TenneT’s core strategic communication topics with corresponding frames and establish a state-of-the-art financial communication framework;
  • Advise PUC leaders, senior leadership, and C-suite executives on communication, positioning, and brand identity strategies;
  • Represent TenneT externally and a dedicated connector and result oriented people manager reporting to the Head of Communication/Director PUC and deputy Head when needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate the growth towards a high-performance team, collaborative, critical and pro-active management team member;
  • Structuring and organising communication deliverables, planning resources including suppliers and setting priorities. Quarterly monitoring and reporting on communication metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts;
  • Develop, refine and lead the execution of the corporate communication strategy including strategic goals to ensure alignment with TenneT’s strategy;
  • Lead the creation and execution of company positioning on different key topics including frame development and agenda setting;
  • Oversee the brand strategy and develop strategic guardrails for corporate identity and by regular stakeholder analyses and other qualitative insights, working closely together with Team Content & Brand;
  • Direct the creation of storylines, ensuring quarterly updates and easy accessible high-quality content;
  • Prevailing a clear and aligned strategic communication vision and advising on communication, positioning, and brand strategy (identity including leading and coaching an interdisciplinary team for strategy and story development.
