Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in risk and control identification methods and performing assessments
  • Knowledge of branch systems used (Tellerview, SVT, SVP, Hogan, etc.) and related Branch Portal / Banker and Banker Connection procedures used to service bankers and customers.
  • Prior branch banking experience or regional support experience
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and applicable Corporate Policy requirements in order to identify areas of risk and issues for the LOB and/or provide credible challenge

Responsibilities:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Control Management Officer who will consult and provide guidance to branch banking and affluent business groups on the development, implementation, and monitoring of business-specific programs to identify, assess, manage and mitigate current and emerging risk exposures. Specifically, they will consult and provide support in designing and implementing business processes and controls that mitigate operational and compliance risks. This employee will assist with interpretation of policy, guidelines, and governance programs and serve as the front line liaison to the Independent Risk Management area for moderate to high risk and complexity enterprise risk programs. The employee will partner across lines of business to ensure consistent approaches to business initiatives and program implementation, risk assessments and risk mitigation ensuring the design and performance of controls are effective and sustainable.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to managing/supporting the business in:

  • Business Support and Strategy - Sales Practices / Conduct Management
  • Performance Management and Rewards / Incentive Compensation Design and Execution including monitoring of performance related reporting
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the business control environment through execution of the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program.
  • Responsible for driving to completion all assigned issues and Corrective Actions (CAs) throughout the Issue Management Lifecycle, from Issue Capture through Issue Validation in partnership with the business.
  • Engages in the development and implementation of new controls.
  • Ongoing monitoring and proactive assessment of operating/control environment
  • Support Business Development Initiatives including Customer & Branch Experience, Manager/Banker Best Practices, and Customer Consent
  • Manage/lead communications development including presentations for leadership and regulators
  • Support client relationship, customer outreach, and referral processes
  • Oversee or complete risk assessments (ex. UDAAP, Conduct/Sales Practices, Fair Lending, and other targeted risk assessments)

The successful candidate will have a track record of success in performing risk and control assessments and working across teams and business groups. Verbal and written communication, self-starter, attention to detail and accuracy will be determining factors in selection. Successful candidates will be creative, articulate, and possess strong problem-solving abilities, in addition to strong presentation and interpersonal skills. This role requires a collaborative individual contributor capable of initiating action, managing change in a fast-paced environment, and have strong planning and execution skills. A key differentiator will be the ability to understand and operate successfully in a complex, heavily matrixed business environment. The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, good judgment, and personal accountability for achievement.
