Description:

REPORTING TO THE MANAGING COUNSEL CNS MEA, THE JOB HOLDER WILL BE WORKING IN A DYNAMIC, FAST-PACED ENVIRONMENT AND WILL BE EXPECTED TO ENGAGE CONFIDENTLY AND EFFECTIVELY WITH SENIOR CNS STAKEHOLDERS IN SAUDI ARABIA, QATAR AND OTHER COUNTRIES AS ADVISED. THE JOB HOLDER WILL PROVIDE DEDICATED SPECIALIST LEGAL AND COMMERCIAL ADVICE AND EXPERTISE TO THE LOCAL LEGAL ENTITY AND ALL RELEVANT CNS FUNCTIONS (INCLUDING CNS SALES AND PRESALES FUNCTIONS). THEY WILL ACT AS A TRUSTED ADVISOR TO CNS SALES LEADERS TO ENSURE INFORMED BUSINESS DECISIONS ARE MADE TO SUPPORT COMMERCIAL OPPORTUNITIES WHILST ALWAYS ENSURING LEGAL COMPLIANCE IS ADHERED AND BUSINESS RISKS ARE EFFECTIVELY MITIGATED.

The Lead Counsel is responsible for:

  • providing commercial legal advice and expertise as well as leading and managing legal, contractual and regulatory risks of the Cloud & Network Services Business Group in all respects in the region
  • ensuring robust corporate and functional governance is in place for internal compliance
  • providing a high professional standard of legal support to CNS leaders in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other Middle East countries where required through the application of excellent counselling, drafting and negotiation skills
  • providing pragmatic and strategic advice and support to CNS business partnerstaking a leading role in problem-solving and decision-making in all areas of the business, and consistently working to minimize and manage commercial and legal risks

You have:

  • Professional legal qualifications and practical commercial legal experience of not less than 7 years
  • Working experience in Middle East & Africa
  • Working experience in telecom, information and communication technology
  • Working knowledge of commercial, employment, corporate Law, company secretarial management, and commercial Litigations (and case management), contract management, compliance and anti-trust law
  • Experience in dealing with government contracts and regulatory authorities
  • High degree of business partnering
  • Good commercial judgment
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Strong inter-personal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Appropriate level of maturity to provide credibility at senior levels externally and internally
  • Proven people/teams management capabilitiesFluency in written and spoken English and Arabic and familiarity with legal documentation in English and Arabic languages
