Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 3 years of related experience preferably to include credit risk, markets, credit research or portfolio management.
- Knowledge of debt markets, debt instruments and commercial loan products.
- Experience managing Wholesale Credit Risk data within the financial services industry.
- Experience designing and building data platforms.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with an ability to translate ambiguous ideas into well-defined plans/solutions with a track record for delivering results.
- Effective communicator, both orally and in writing; able to ask well-crafted questions and present ideas in a clear and compelling manner; good listener who engenders creative thinking and teamwork; communicate effectively amongst diverse, differing, competing, and/or conflicting perspectives/priorities.

Responsibilities:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Credit Risk Officer to support the Wholesale Credit portfolio surveillance, committee governance processes, risk measurement program activities, credit policies and risk rating methodologies. The Lead Credit Risk Officer will be responsible for complex data initiatives including those that are cross-functional with broad impact such as review, analysis and enhancement of programs, strategies, policies and procedures with direct and significant impact on credit risk management and credit risk appetite.
In this role, you will:
- Focus on delivering data solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation and advanced analytics, and coordination of highly complex activities.
- Participate in the design and build of Wholesale Credit related data solutions that support current and future analytic needs.
- Develop and deploy analytical tools to identify, monitor and analyze single name, sector, concentration, and portfolio risks.
- Act as an advisor to experienced leadership team to develop, influence, and interpret data for monitoring and oversight of portfolio and deliver insight and decision strategies, with long term goals for highly complex business analysis and modeling in Wholesale Credit.
- Extract Wholesale Credit data to support statistical and financial modeling, delivering solutions that require vision, innovation and coordination across multiple business functions.
- Make decisions in highly complex and multifaceted situations requiring solid understanding of business group’s functional areas and products, facilitate decision making and issue resolutions, and support implementation of developed solutions and plans.
- Develop and maintain a roadmap for managing data quality. Provide leadership in developing and ensuring adherence to data related desktop procedures and data management controls.
- Provide key stakeholders with subject matter expertise and reliable, transparent analysis and reporting.
- Interact with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies on risk related topics.
