We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Database Lead. Selected candidate will join a global DB Operations team responsible for providing support and maintaining the overall performance, reliability, and availability of our database systems. The DBA Operations team will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal database performance and support the organization’s data management objectives.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Experience with advanced Windows OS commands and automation tools and demonstrated power shell and batch scripting skills.
  • Strong proficiency in MS SQL Server Database management, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
  • All items performed by Senior Database Administrators and Database Engineers which includes design, deploy, operations, and modernization.
  • They are thought leaders and effectively manage the workflow for projects and day to day operations.
  • Key contributor to ensuring that the team aligns to the vision and strategic direction of database organization.
  • Assist in the evaluation of new and existing staff members.
  • Provides technical insight and guidance to the team.
  • Oversees implementation of policies and procedures to ensure alignment with product and service requirements.
  • They ensure that the team aligns to standards for new builds and support troubleshooting situations.
  • They seek to reduce complexity and maintain cost effectiveness.
  • They are proficient in designing, engineering, and supporting AWS/Cloud database solutions.
  • They set the tone and provide leadership for the team to design and build automated solutions.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, college diploma or exceptional equivalent work experienc

Experience:

  • 6+ years as a MS SQL Server database administrator leveraging:
  • T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, database design, configurations and builds, logical and physical data modeling, stored procedures, monitoring, upgrade, patching, security, backup/recovery, and data integrity skills.
  • SQL internals, Clustering, Always-On, Partitioning and In-Memory.
  • 2+ years of experience leading a Database Team

Responsibilities:

  • They can effectively administer the databases themselves to ensure that we are satisfying our customer requirements.
  • Database leads lead the team’s workflow for projects, changes, and incident resolution.
  • The lead ensures that the members of the team align to the culture and strategy of the database organization.
  • The lead must be customer focused and ensures that the members of the database team is aligned with this focus.
    Basic Skill Level Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, college diploma or exceptional equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • 6+ years as a MS SQL Server database administrator leveraging:
