We are looking for a seasoned Lead Deployment Engineer (DevOps) with a robust technical background and exemplary leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading large-scale technical projects, particularly within web application development and deployment, and be adept at navigating complex operational landscapes.
The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled candidate with extensive experience in DevOps and deployment engineering, emphasizing the need for a combination of technical prowess and leadership skills necessary to drive successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and lead multiple development workstreams within Benefits Portfolio projects, ensuring successful delivery.
  • Conduct and lead technical and operational design peer reviews to uphold high-quality standards.
  • Design and implement robust security measures and identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities across projects.
  • Manage the deployment of applications across both production and non-production environments.
  • Utilize and optimize triaging and observability tools from cloud providers such as AWS.
  • Develop, plan, and execute sophisticated software configuration management tasks.
  • Create efficient and high-quality build scripts to meet tight product release deadlines.
  • Monitor application performance and operational processes in both internal and production environments.
  • Lead the analysis, problem definition, requirements gathering, and solution development processes.
  • Employ a variety of tools for source code quality and security, including static and dynamic analysis.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation to ensure transparency and clarity across the development lifecycle.

Required Skills:

  • US Citizen and ability to pass a public trust investigation
  • 10+ years of proven experience in leading web application development teams.
  • Extensive experience in developing with C#, Java, Microservices, and front-end technologies such as Angular, HTML5, and SCSS.
  • Proficiency in IDEs, application deployment tools (MS Build, WIX), and Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines.
  • Deep understanding of AWS services including SQS, AWS S3, EKS, AWS AppStream, Lambda, and authentication mechanisms such as Kong OAuth2.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Kafka, New Relic, and Splunk.
  • Experience with code quality and security tools like Fortify, SonarQube, and testing tools like Junit, nUnit, and 508 testing tools.
  • Experience with Data Exchange Microservices
  • Experienced in Agile/Scrum and Kanban methodologies
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively lead and collaborate within and across teams.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with NGINX as a high-performance web server/load balancer.
  • Knowledge of Twistlock for automated service scanning and Lint for static code analysis.
