As a Lead Developer Advocate, you’ll play a pivotal role in empowering and growing the developer community around Snowflake’s platform. By creating impactful resources and fostering meaningful relationships, you’ll inspire developers to build innovative applications, data pipelines, and workflows leveraging Snowflake.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Experience: 7+ years in developer advocacy, developer relations, technical writing, or a related role.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Python and SQL, with working knowledge of platforms and tools like Hugging Face, dbt, and Notebooks.
  • Hands-On Knowledge: Familiarity with data platforms (e.g., Postgres) and developer tools (e.g., SDKs, APIs, LLMs). Experience creating code samples, demos, or tutorials for at least two programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, Go, or Ruby.
  • Community Focus: A track record of engaging with developer communities and contributing to their growth through meaningful interactions and resources.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work with product management, engineering, marketing, and customer success teams.
  • Scrappy & Action-Oriented: A “done is better than perfect” mindset with the ability to deliver impactful results efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Awareness & Engagement: Champion Snowflake’s platform to developers, showcasing its potential for building data-intensive applications, data pipelines, and AI/ML workflows.
  • Create Developer Resources: Be hands-on in developing high-quality, developer-focused materials, including open-source demos, code samples, documentation, how-to guides, tutorials, and blog posts.
  • Build Community Connections: Engage actively in online communities (e.g., Stack Overflow, GitHub, Slack, Reddit, Discord) to identify developer needs, provide guidance, and create resources addressing gaps.
  • Foster Relationships: Collaborate with external developers, engineers, architects, and founders to strengthen Snowflake’s presence in the broader data ecosystem.
  • Measure Impact: Define and track key metrics to evaluate the success and effectiveness of developer content, outreach efforts, and community-building initiatives.
  • Advocate in the Community: Represent Snowflake at conferences and events through speaking engagements, workshops, and hands-on demos.
  • Feedback Loop: Communicate developer insights and needs to product management, influencing feature enhancements and product strategy.
  • Travel across EMEA to engage in developer events, speak at conferences, and strengthen community ties.
  • Align regional initiatives with global strategies by reporting insights and advocating for EMEA-specific needs to US-based management and global product teams.   • Support local communities and leaders in building thought leadership, educating on product announcements, and fostering connections.
  • Enable and train internal Snowflake speakers, including PMMs, to effectively represent the brand at events and scale advocacy across overlapping activities.
  • Collaborate with local PMM team to integrate advocacy efforts into broader regional business goals.
