Founded in 2017 (currently ~75 person headcount), their platform has changed the way mining companies communicate with their stakeholders through the use of 3D visualization and AI tools. Already adopted by many of the top mining companies in the world and with a quickly growing list of customers, the company continues to scale. In 2023, they raised a successful multi-million dollar Series-A funding round - a reflection of their product’s traction in the market. JOB SUMMARY:
As the Lead Developer - Cloud Infrastructure, you will drive the creation of our geospatial data management platform, which forms the foundation of our machine learning product.
You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and refining a sophisticated cloud-based data solution that can manage large, complex, and unconventional geological data. Your work will ensure that our infrastructure is robust, scalable, and highly efficient.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong expertise in cloud technologies, geospatial data processing, and data architecture. In addition, you will play a crucial role in mentoring and guiding other developers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and innovation in cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, design, and deploy a robust and scalable cloud infrastructure specifically designed to handle large, intricate, and unconventional geological data, ensuring smooth integration with our machine learning solutions.
- Regularly assess and enhance the cloud infrastructure to ensure it meets the evolving demands for performance, scalability, and resilience as the platform expands.
- Create and implement security best practices within the cloud environment, including data encryption, access management, and adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Establish monitoring and alerting systems to maintain the health, availability, and reliability of the cloud infrastructure, and proactively address any potential issues.
- Keep abreast of the latest advancements in cloud technologies and spearhead the adoption of new tools and technologies to enhance the platform’s functionality.
- Document code, processes, and outcomes for future reference and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate closely with software developers, data engineers, geologists, machine learning specialists, and product managers to transition experimental models into production-ready solutions that align with business objectives.
