KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong expertise in software development, particularly in developing and managing complex processes and systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, PHP, or JavaScript, and experience with frameworks like React, Angular, or Spring.
  • Proficiency in code pipelines and source code managing

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a lead or managerial role.
  • Proven track record of developing and managing complex software processes.
  • Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry or a related field.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic technology and services.
  • Experience in cloud-based infrastructure management
  • Experience in Unix system management and skills
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster, AWS Certified Developer, or similar).

Responsibilities:

POSITION OVERVIEW & PURPOSE

The Lead Developer at LiveOak Fiber plays a critical role in designing, developing, and managing major software processes and systems in the telecommunications space. This position’s primary purpose is to lead a team of developers (onshore and offshore), drive innovation, and ensure the successful implementation of key software processes that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Software Development Leadership
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of major software processes and systems.
  • Ensure the architecture and code are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
  • Team Management
  • Oversee a team of developers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Conduct regular code reviews and ensure best practices are followed.
  • Process Innovation and Optimization
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and implement innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Project Management
  • Manage software development projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and status reports.
  • Quality Assurance
  • Ensure the highest level of software quality through rigorous testing and validation.
  • Implement automated testing and continuous integration practices.
  • Technical Documentation
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for all developed processes.
  • Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Vendor and Tool Management
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with software vendors and third-party tools.
  • Ensure that all tools and technologies used are aligned with the company’s strategic goals.
