We’d all like amazing work to do, and real work-life balance. That’s waiting for you at Sainsbury’s. As the link between sellers and buyers, retail and head office, our retail operations team is the cog that keeps things running. With teams focused on store facing, labour, transformation, online, delivery and contact centre work, we touch almost every part of the business. It’s an incredibly fast-paced environment where you need to pivot not just daily, but often hourly. So while we plan all we can, it’s vital that we all think outside our job descriptions and look to optimise and improve how we do everything. There’s also a real team ethos. After all, it’s people like you who are going to truly transform this part of the business.

Responsibilities:

As our Lead Digital & Retail Operations Manager you will play a pivotal role in driving change, growth, and performance of the store-based digital channel propositions. Leading a team of Digital & Retail Operations Managers and Driver Service Managers, you will ensure operational readiness to support growth, innovation, and enhanced operating standards across multiple sites, handling over 700k online orders per week. Your focus will involve planning and facilitating the expansion of operations, collaborating with store and broader teams to deliver performance enhancements and operational initiatives while aiming to achieve sales growth and offer industry-leading service aligned with the Food Digital Strategy. Your responsibilities encompass building stakeholder relationships, identifying areas for improvement, implementing strategic plans, and managing the day-to-day operations to optimise operational performance and customer experience. Your leadership and influence will drive change, support team development, and align operations with the digital operations strategy, emphasising self-sufficiency, forecasting, and sustainable business growth.
