Description:
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE – ESSENTIAL:
- A full and clean driving license (Category C1 or above 7.5 tonne).
- Good communication skill.
- Demonstrable relevant experience working within a logistics function, including experience of digital tachographs.
- Drivers Hours Legislation including WTD knowledge.
- Driver Certificate of Competence (Driver CPC).
Responsibilities:
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To lead, support and advise the HSSU driver teams to maintain the delivery & collection of medical devices ensuring all customer requirements are completed.
To provide and integrate a professional delivery service for new customers joining Nuffield Health Sterilisation Services.
To assist the National Transport Manager to maintain our Operator License by ensuring that all Driver and vehicle legal compliance & requirements are consistently completed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To act as first line manager to a team of drivers in the supply of disinfected and sterile medical devices to customers.
- To provide Induction, development and training and involvement in recruitment, performance reviews for both contracted & Agency drivers.
- To maintain accurate and comprehensive vehicle records for all safety compliance requirements.
- To provide standby and emergency cover within the context of Drivers Hours Legislation or excessive sickness.
- Prepare and participate for all external accreditation audits to ensure transport compliance.
- To legally maintain delivery vehicles to meet compliance requirements.
- To ensure that drivers meet all required legal responsibilities / conduct investigations with any short falls.
- To investigate all Road Traffic collisions, communicate with our insurance provider & conduct briefings with HSSU driver concerned.
- To record all concerned Road Traffic Collisions and HSSU driver non- compliance to Nuffield Health RADAR reporting system.
- To ensure continuation of driver CPC training is upheld throughout a 5-year period.
- To ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and organisational policies, procedures, and systems, including Health and Safety, Quality, Hygiene, Infection Prevention and take appropriate action where necessary.
- Ensure that the driving team interact & support the production teams to always achieve a streamlined service to our hospitals.
