ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
Jacobs Nuclear is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.

As a result of an increasing portfolio of projects, we are currently looking for a Principal EC&I Engineer to join the team in Birchwood, Warrington. PLEASE NOTE This role has an expectation of a minimum of 3 days working in the Birchwood office.

Responsibilities:
- Independently capable of managing his/her area of responsibility.
- Management and oversight of a team of engineers and designers in the production and management of EC&I designs, both in-house and as part of Contracts placed within the supply chain.
- Liaison with the other workstreams, disciplines and the Safety Case team. Ensuring all aspects required are captured and delivered as part of the EC&I design and build process.
- Responsibility for ensuring that all remaining phases of the lifecycle are aligned to the Projects safety case requirements (Nuclear and Conventional) and ensuring all functional requirements are met.
- Ensuring Validation and Verification is adequately managed.
- Developing and managing the delivery schedule and resource levels for delivery of the EC&I work scope for this area (supported by the project controls team/planning team).
- Ensuring V&V information is captured during project delivery.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Degree/HNC Qualified in Electrical Engineering, Ideally MIET, Chartered.
- The candidate shall have some experience in a similar role.
- Experience in managing a team of EC&I engineers & designers and effectively coordinate and prioritise work.
- Familiar with estimating/scheduling/weekly progress reporting/CPI/SPI.
- Specific experience of Mechanical Handling Systems, Control and Safety Systems.
- Conversant with existing CAE tools.
- Strong Stakeholder Engagement experience including external stakeholders and regulators.
