Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a talented and motivated Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Commercial Modifications Engineering team in Long Beach, California. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the development and maintenance of electrical product details, assembly, and installation designs for a diverse range of commercial aircraft, from the McDonnell Douglas MD series to the state-of-the-art Boeing 777X.
In this dynamic position, you will leverage your expertise to design and implement electrical installation solutions that enhance aircraft capabilities and operational efficiency. You will work on projects that involve retrofitting existing aircraft with advanced connectivity systems, optimizing electrical layouts, and ensuring seamless integration of new technologies. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of aircraft, enabling our customers to maintain competitive advantages in the aviation market.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 12+ years’ experience in the aerospace industry
- Ability to travel 10% of the time

- Skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
Certification & Qualification
- Knowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures (e.g. DO-160 and D6 requirements), including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements. Ability to assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of detailed designs for cable and wire harness assemblies, providing technical guidance to junior engineers
- Conduct in-depth analysis of design results and perform comprehensive design reviews, ensuring alignment with operational and functional requirements
- Provides guidance in engineering design disposition on discrepancies
- Provides direction used by multiple teams to develop complex statements of work, metrics, schedules and budgets
- Defines processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities
- Works with customers and suppliers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements
- Provides direction used by multiple teams to analyze complex results and performs design reviews
- Review supplier technical data to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team
- Provide in-service technical support and troubleshooting to airlines and modification sites
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design efficiency and effectiveness
