We are currently seeking a talented Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Bowmanville or Mississauga office. Working with a team of highly qualified, enthusiastic individuals, you will be responsible for managing projects of various scope, and developing solutions tailored to customer needs. You’ll oversee the design, inspection and implementation of electrical systems for multidisciplinary projects on institutional buildings including education, recreation, health care, municipal, and commercial projects, as well as other types of buildings such as industrial and transportation. You should be driven to develop innovative solutions to engineering challenges as well as accompanying the clients through the design process.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A recognized electrical engineering degree and licensed with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) as a P. Eng.
  • Minimum 12 years of directly related experience in electrical engineering in the buildings sector
  • Experience with electrical design on water /wastewater and transit facilities preferred
  • Self-motivation and strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Demonstrate a commitment to client service
  • In depth knowledge of Canadian codes and standards
  • Experience in managing teams of professional engineers (an asset)
  • Knowledge and experience in the consulting engineering market and with clients in GTA and surrounding area

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise directly with clients and maintain business relationships
  • Prepare proposal submissions including pricing, agreements, and/or response to RFPs
  • Prepare or supervise the design of institutional buildings including education, recreation, health care, municipal, and commercial projects, as well as other types of buildings such as industrial and transportation
  • Investigate, survey and audit sites for design projects or Studies
  • Manage and work with the project team from conceptual and preliminary stages of design through to construction completion including tender and construction/contract administration
  • Ensure compliance to the quality assurance and control program
  • Prepare technical reports
  • Prepare and write specifications
  • Prepare construction cost estimates
  • Project planning including design schedule, and proposed construction schedules
  • Ensure compliance to the quality assurance and control program
