    The Role
    We are seeking to engage a Lead Electrical Engineer, with a PE Certification, to join our team in Singapore. In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading a team of Electrical Engineers to undertake HV power transmission and MV/LV power distribution engineering designs for large, integrated developments at district and nation level, with integration with various renewables and clean energy sources, with utilization of latest technology of Battery Energy Storage System, as a micro-grid system and connection to the Grid.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting HV/MV/LV Electrical calculations and system studies for electrical power supply system up to 66kV (230/400kV will be an advantage) such as Power Load Flow studies, Short Circuit studies, Harmonic studies, Thermal rating calculations, Transient Stability study and Protection Relay Co-ordination studies.
  • Creating engineering designs for Electrical Balance of Plant associated with combined cycle gas turbines, floating plant, oil and gas plants, large scale of energy storage system, and clusters of commercial/industrial buildings.
  • Designing electrical systems for power generation and energy facilities, including generators, transformers, switchgear, AC/DC distribution panels, diesel genset, battery system, UPS, cabling, earthing and lightning protection etc. Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and specifications. Collaborating with other engineering disciplines to ensure integration with overall plant design.
  • Conducting Spatial planning of Power Transmission and Distribution equipment with consideration of space for CAPEX, maintenance and operation.
  • Leading and carrying out consultations with local authorities / agencies
  • Providing support in project proposals. cost estimates, execution and commissioning activities.

About You

Suitable applicants will be/have:

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from a University recognized by PEB (Singapore)
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with Singapore PEB
  • Min 15 years of experience in carrying out engineering design of electrical power generation, power transmission and distribution system for large, integrated developments and/or clusters of buildings/developments, at district and nation level. The electrical designs should include integration with various renewables and clean energy sources with applications and utilisation of latest technology Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
  • Candidate with gas/thermal power and other renewable energy (solar, wind, biogas, biomass, WTE etc) project experience will have added advantage.
  • Experience and familiar with EMA and SPPG requirements on Power generation, transmission, interconnections and system design requirements. Familiar with the EMA and SPPG consultation processes and application.
  • Experience in the planning, sizing and designing of 22kV and 66kV Substations and/or equipment. Experience in 230/400kV Substations and equipment will be an advantage.
  • Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) 22kV, will be an advantage
  • Experience and familiar with ETAP and/or PSSE, SKM, PSCAD software
  • Conversant with relevant International and local codes and standards such as IEC, IEEE, BS, NEC and UL
  • Conversant with SS 638 (or CP5), SS 551, SS 555, SS 650 (CP88), TR77,
  • Conversant with hazardous electrical requirement
  • Strong writing skills, verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to be an independent problem solver
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead a diverse team
  • Team player and ability to work with and manage clients and stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic
