Desired Qualifications:
- Proven track record and experience in direct sourcing and prospecting new clients
- Commercial or Middle Market account relationship management experience
- Established network in the local Greater Oregon and Southwest Washington markets
- Existing local in-market network to fuel business development
- Experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas
- Treasury Management product knowledge
- Experience building relationships with community organizations and key community influencers
- Proven ability to develop and execute a sales strategy
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Proficient with MS Technology Platforms (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Credit acumen demonstrated through education
- Risk management experience to include understanding of the responsibility to protect sensitive information

Responsibilities:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Emerging Middle Market Business Development Representative within Commercial Banking to support our team in Portland. Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com .
In this role, you will:
- Engage in prospect contact activities and employ contact strategies focused on generating complete Commercial and Industrial relationships with annual sales revenue typically up to $100MM
- Focus on intentional EMM customer selection/acquisition to grow the business
- Employ contact strategies focused on generating complete C&I relationships
- Acquire complete customer relationships where Wells Fargo is the primary/sole bank
- Engage in proactive prospect contact activities aligned with MMB Standards of Care
- Develop quality prospect/COI lists
- Maintain a disciplined approach to pipeline management
- Fully leverage CRM to manage prospect and COI relationships
- Partner with and refer to both Virtual and In-market EMM RMs
- Engage and consult with partner groups to recommend best fit solutions
- Generate/qualify referrals across Consumer Small Business and MMB business development teams
- Remain engaged with prospect and sales process until prospect converts to customer
