Responsibilities:
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
- Have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferred, or similar “STEM” majors (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math).
- Have a solid experience in Turbomachinery mechanics, balance of plant, especially in Reciprocating Compressors and Gas Turbines as focus subjects, more over in Centrifugal Compression trains and Steam Turbines.
- Have good experience in role.
- Have experience in software specification definition, evolution and design of web application based on java tech stack. Be familiar with programming languages, for example SQL, Fortran, Java, Python, bash script, visual basic.
- Have experience in software life-cycle management: DEV, QA, PROD environments, deployment processes and code versioning system (GIT).
- Be familiar with typical IT infrastructure components and functionality like IP network basics, cyber security elements (firewall, authentication layer, code vulnerability management), Proxy load balancing, DNS, server spec (CPU, RAM, storage).
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze complex issues and decompose these into a manageable set of tasks.
- Demonstrate experience of leading projects with global teams.
- Have clear thinking attitude with entrepreneur’s mindset.
- Be able to fluently speak and write in English.
- Be a motivated self-starter, proactively taking initiative to lead and solve problems through collaboration.
- Report to senior leadership
- Have excellent communication skills, written and oral. Demonstrate ability to interact positively with both internal and external parties.

As a Lead Engineer - Design & Software, you will be responsible for:
- Designing the engineering processes & software ecosystems dedicated to Turbomachinery engineering teams, in particular Reciprocating Compressors and Gas Turbine product selection.
- Transforming the Engineering needs/processes into Business requirements document and Software specifications for Application development outsourcing.
- Providing technical leadership to, and engage in technical discussions with, internal/external stakeholders during analysis, development, roll-out phases for the assigned projects.
- Defining technical requirements (calculation algorithms, backend business logic, UX, tech stack) in collaboration with BH internal customer and third parties.
- Establishing strong connections with Baker Hughes Digital Technology teams to ensure fruitful collaborations for technology evolution, adoption, and operational tasks.
- Working with team members to lead the IT infrastructure evolution to guarantee and maximize performance of tools and technical calculations across the whole product portfolio:
- create, maintain, improve, and drive new app functionalities including relevant documentation
- lead testing and validation activity (e.g. user acceptance tests)
- support technical program users to solve issues on tools and/or theory
- Managing cross-functional and multicultural Teams to assure project execution.
- Managing project risks to prevent issues and drive mitigation plan/actions.
- Ensuring compliance with all corporate standards and practices.
- Identifying the scope of the work, provide initial estimate and justify the estimate with facts.
- Demonstrating the understanding of Agile/Waterfall software development lifecycle and able to distinguish the core inputs and outputs in each cycle.
- Documenting technical data consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Participating as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
- Harmonizing and adapting own goals in the context of complex global development plans and variable requirements.
- Guaranteeing the respect of quality procedure and lead team process improvements.
- Participating on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives, projects and generic issues.
- Leading the evolution of these software frameworks to guarantee the alignment of Baker Hughes with the rest of the world state of the art.
- Fostering a culture of Quality right at the first time.
- Providing oversight and mentoring team members. Showing ability to effectively delegate work
