Description:

To provide clinical leadership and expert advice and support on safeguarding children to all Oxleas staff To ensure that staff are fully aware of their statutory responsibilities to safeguard children, young people and adults at risk To ensure the delivery of the safeguarding children service locally and assist the Head of safeguarding to ensure provision across the trust To contribute to Safeguarding children practice reviews, Domestic homicide reviews, Safeguarding adult reviews and other types of reviews including investigating and writing the Individual Management Reviews for the Trust To provide safeguarding children specialist advice and support to the investigation of serious incidents, internal case reviews and any complaints To ensure that all local recommendations are fed into service action plans and that learning is embedded in practice To provide advice and support to staff where there are professional differences of opinion in multi-agency decision making about children and families and to support with escalation process To recognise and support managers in identifying any competency issues practitioners have in relation to safeguarding work To develop and promote collaborative interagency working on all issues relating to safeguarding children and young people and overall safeguarding practice To work in close liaison with senior colleagues in partner agencies including Designated safeguarding professionals, Named doctors and Safeguarding champions To identify opportunities for service development and develop business plan
