Description:

Key Accountabilities:
Lead all aspects of the Geoscience database and geographic information system (GIS) as well as the geological relational databases on behalf of Ma’aden.
Act as ambassador for the geological database, hold accountability and ownership for any data that would be shared with the external consultants and the various stakeholders.
Make the necessary changes to database structure as instructed by the management and perform database audits.
Perform the monthly update of the geological database and ensure that the dedicated database management package is used effectively in all of the sites
Quality assurance and quality control compilation and audits. Ensure timely and accurate QA/QC reporting of monthly and quarterly requirements.
Collaborate with mine, resource and project geologists and support the mineral resource estimation process.
Supervise the subordinates and ensure that they perform according to standards and procedures.
Stay updated with industry advancements, best practices, and apply them to improve database management utilization and integration.
Ensure all software used by the Geology Department is always in good standing.
Follow and adhere to Ma’aden Operational, Confidentiality, Environmental, Health and Safety Policies and Standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Engineering Geology.
Minimum Experience:
8-12 years mining industry experience with exposure to both exploration and Mine operational databases.

Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of relational databases, technology and industry standards and best practices regarding the collection, storage and security of data.
  • Computer literacy in Office suites including MS Project and Team as well as mining software, GEOVIA Surpac and Leapfrog.
  • Strong competence in data management, validation and data security.
  • Expert competence to handle and analyze data, 2D and 3D models.
  • Familiar with the international reporting codes and standards of exploration results, mineral resources and ore reserves.
  • Advanced understanding of business processes and value chain.
  • Familiar with budgeting and financial modeling.
  • Knowledge in well known Geological database such as acquire, Datashed, Datamine Fusion is an advantage
