JOB SUMMARY

The Production Lead Hand will require a strong level of mechanical aptitude, and 3 years of work experience in production. Responsibilities include the management of several production employees, maintaining product quality, shipping, material purchasing, safety, and will work with Supervisors to coordinate production schedules. Other responsibilities include the operation of various types of machinery, completing compliant paperwork (BRC, health & safety, etc.), mentoring production employees, and participating in related programs.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Coordination of production schedules on a daily basis (coverage for breaks, lunches, as well as changing schedules to accommodate trial runs, breakdowns, etc.)
• Monitor the performance of plant employees on their line
• Oversee day-to-day operations of their production line
• Ensure that production runs are completed in a safe and timely fashion
• Maintain a safe, clean and legally compliant workplace
• Maintain product quality
• Operate various types of machinery as required
• Perform all other duties as assigned or needed

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• 3-5 years experience in a similar position and / or more than 5 years experience in production environment
• High level of mechanical aptitude will be an asset
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to create logically ordered objectives
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage employees
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent basic mathematical skills
