POSITION: MAINTENANCE DIVISION HORTICULTURAL CREW LEAD

MISSION: The mission of the Maintenance Division Horticultural Lead at Costa Verde is to ensure the seamless execution of our premium garden maintenance contracts with precision and care.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 4 years of professional gardening experience.
  • Horticultural education or Real Seal certification is an asset
  • Strong Plant ID knowledge is a must!
  • Pesticide Applicators Ticket is an asset.
  • Some Integrated Pest Management knowledge and understanding.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with landscape maintenance equipment
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations, including safe handling of equipment, safe worksite practices, and proper PPE (personal protective equipment).
  • Certification in first aid is an asset.
  • Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Smart phone with data.
  • Proven ability to effectively delegate tasks, manage tight timelines, and ensure work is being done efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Professionally represent the Costa Verde brand and promote a strong company culture.
  • Efficiently perform daily maintenance tasks, including pruning, weeding, trimming, etc…
  • Successfully operate all required tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are fully operational by performing regular preventative maintenance.
  • Keep company vehicles presentable at all times.
  • Oversee our premium landscape maintenance contracts
  • Lead and oversee our horticultural crew by setting clear daily expectations, delegating tasks effectively, and ensuring quality standards are met through regular checks.
  • Enforce safety standards at all times and keep crew informed of ongoing hazards.- Meet weekly production targets set by the Division Manager, helping keep jobs on time and on budget
    -Proactively create opportunities during project execution to provide crew training, enhancing productivity and ensuring quality work.
  • Go beyond routine site duties to proactively manage contracts, including identifying opportunities, implementing improvements, and delivering exceptional client value.
  • Consistently complete administrative responsibilities and and assist the Division Manager in ensuring the crew adheres to the same responsibilities.
  • Administers Seasonal Horticultural Assessments for Costa Verde maintenance contracts
  • Supports Division Field Manager in organizing in-house training opportunities for staff.
