Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Platform Operations and Maintenance

  • Lead and supervise instrument technicians to perform routine preventative maintenance, trouble shooting, inspections, repairs and overhauls on all offshore equipment associated with instrumentation e.g. motor instrument controls, pneumatic controls, electronic controls, PCS, fire and gas system, etc.
  • Responsible maintenance and knowledgeable with Pegaga Honeywell PCS unit.
  • On site responsibility for maintenance of all instrument equipment associated with the producing facilities and support facilities. Capable of organizing, planning, troubleshooting and working independently with minimum supervision. Supervise and provide training for electrical and instrumentation technicians.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, trouble shooting, inspections, and repairs on all offshore equipment associated with motor instrument controls and switches, PCS, Fire & Gas System, etc.
  • Plans and supervise Critical Device Function Testing, routine / preventative maintenance on instrument equipment example, PSVs, BDVs, SIS etc. and update data and review findings with supervisor.
  • Provide training, coaching and mentoring for Instrument Technician, monitor performance and identifying other training requirement.
  • Train and develop subordinates to achieve high competency level in MP TCMS program.
  • Prepares routine / special isolation and maintenance reports.
  • Responsible for operating and maintaining all test equipment etc. in good working condition.
  • Ensure that inventories of spare parts, consumables, and special replacements parts are maintained and available in-stock.
  • Updating all maintenance records accurately.
  • Lead Instrument Technicians in scheduling and planning preventative maintenance, inspections and repairs.
  • Ensure all work, planned or unplanned work to be performed with safety rules and standards, Permit to Work, TRA.
  • Co-ordinates his work on the platform with other activities to maximize the safety for personnel, equipment and environment.
  • Ability to read and understand related manual for guidance and repair procedures.
  • Respond to emergencies as part of the Offshore Emergency Response Team.
  • Carryout all responsibilities, audits etc. as required by the MP Operation Management System.
  • Competence in all scope of work assigned as lead instrument technician as per MP CA Roadmap.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships among team members and others.
  • Safely operate platform in line with company requirements.
  • Ensure platform equipment are in good operational state at all time.
  • Ensure that the Permit to work system, Task Risk Assessment (TRA) and Toolbox Meeting are strictly followed.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standardsEnsure always
  • SOP and PTW for all planned or unplanned maintenance activities.
  • Relieve as Maintenance Supervisor as/if required.

Environmental Standards

  • Monitor and maintain pollution control measures
  • Unplanned discharges are identified, halted where possible, and reported according to MP guidelines.
  • Equipment, waste or other materials for disposal are segregated properly and dealt with according to the correct procedure.

Health, Safety and Environment

  • Ability to conduct safety meetings and safety training.
  • prescribed health and safety processes, standards and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment and workplace for self and others
  • Record maintenance activities and report defects immediately and efficiently
  • Contribute to the health and safety of the working environment
  • Work area within own responsibility is kept clean and free of hazards.
  • Positive action is taken to avoid hazards and unsafe practice
  • Alarms are raised as appropriate and/or acted upon using standard policies, procedures or initiative
  • All potential and actual incidents are reported to the relevant supervisor

Reports

  • Prepare and submit correction and modification reports with the objective of ensuring daily platform and equipment checks are performed and recorded on the appropriate check sheets in time.
  • Immediate response report in time as require by Supervisors, Offshore Installation Manager and/or other relevant.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge:

  • A diploma in Instrumentation technology of/or equivalent field, relevant technical and safety standards.
  • Understanding of Platform operations and maintenance and experienced as first line maintenance.

Experience:

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industry, of which having 5 years or more as Lead Instrument Technician is an advantage.

Skills:

  • Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, good trouble shooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
