An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Analyst to join our Research and Analysis (R&A) team, part of the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU).
If you are an experienced analyst or leader in a police or law enforcement partner environment with excellent understanding of the National Intelligence Model and experience of delivering intelligence products, analytical techniques and methodology and using specialist software, that is looking to take the next step in their career, we feel we can offer you a unique opportunity and challenge.
The purpose of this role is to manage, train and develop a team of analysts; quality assuring their work and developing their skill profiles to deliver a professional analytical service. Most importantly, you will undertake a leading role in identifying and protecting some of the most vulnerable in our society.
The role will also include providing specialist analytical advice to investigating officers; managing expectations through the promotion of best use of analysis and prioritise workloads in accordance with regional priorities and delivery plan.
In this challenging and exciting role, you will manage and lead analysts embedded in SEROCU’s Sensitive Intelligence Unit (SIU), overseeing the flow of sensitive intelligence between your team and key internal and external partners, to develop operational opportunities, support major investigations and manage risk in line with SEROCU’s organisational priorities. This role, therefore, has on call requirements.
You will form part of the wider Research and Analysis portfolio and may lead projects within the SE ROCU, across the SE region, the ROCU network and with SOC partners.
The ability to manage relationships with stakeholders, and engage with a range of partners in order to deliver the regional coordination of the response to serious and organised crime will be a key skill in this role.
Relevant professional qualification and completion of recognised analysis training e.g. NIAT, GIAT or other relevant analytical training is essential. Experience of producing strategic and tactical analytical reports and products is also essential. Management training is desirable but there will be opportunities to receive development opportunities in this area.
You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. For this reason a full UK Driving Licence is essential to the role. You will be also required to perform on-call arrangements for immediate response as required.
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level DV together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
You can find more information about security vetting here.
