BACKGROUND

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Data Engineer to join our team in Portugal. This role involves guiding IT efforts toward effective technical solutions for data challenges. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of data architecture and a proven track record in designing, building, and maintaining data products that meet the needs of various stakeholders.

• Analyze the organization’s data estate and design scalable data solutions, including data pipelines and quality management
• Communicate the rationale behind proposed solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate with IT architects, engineers, and internal clients to ensure designs meet user needs
• Deliver projects in an Agile manner, providing value from data early and frequently
• Monitor and optimize data workflows to enhance efficiency and reliability
• Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance
• Conduct data quality assessments and implement improvement strategies
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members in data engineering practices
• Develop documentation for data solutions, including architecture diagrams and user guides
