Lead Java Software Engineer for E-commerce Platform

You will be working for a US-based technology company with the leading Software, Web and mobile app development for business in North America helping independent retailers adopt and embrace this new key component of their digital marketing solution. The role will work on an amazing team of engineers to continue building out products to meet our retailers digital needs. We are looking for an experienced Team lead software developer Java experience who is interested in Internet data gathering/web crawling (scraping) and tool building.

• Write new crawlers and maintain current web crawlers (scrapers).
• Develop and maintain tools to support and improve the efficiency of the team.
• Ensure that the quality of data gathered by the crawlers (scrapers) continues to adhereto our current high standards.
• Address priority bugs and fires with our internal tools and systems
• Push team initiatives, communicate deadlines, and track progress
• Coach Product Owner(s) on writing effective stories and gathering requirements for newinitiatives
• Identify team members who are excelling as well as team members who need extra help
• Be the technical point of contact with internal and external parties
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for new features and enhancements.
• BS in computer science (or related field) or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of work experience in a software developer role (or similar)
• Proficient in JavaScript, node.js, React AND 4+ years of professional experience
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), cloud services (e.g.,AWS), Java Swing/JavaFX , SQL, GCP, and Hasura.
• Experience with socket/network programming and multi-threaded programming is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and software.
