The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer located in Berkeley, MO.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 4+ years of related engineering experience
  • Experience in Lean Process implementation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • B.S. or higher in Aerospace, Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience supporting defense and/or aerospace customers
  • Experience with 3D model based instruction
  • Experience with any of the following: IVT, CREO, CATIA, MES, Gold, PrimeR, Aurora, VisVSA, DELMIA, VisMockup, ProModel, FlexSim, 3D Printed Parts, Moonshine Shop, Maker Space, ImDev, ICIDO, Multi-Monitor Collaborative Rooms
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution System Common Image (MESci)
    Typical Education/Experience:
    Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
    Level 5: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years’ related work experience, Master+12 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

SUMMARY PAY RANGE:

Level 4: $109,650 - $148,350
Level 5: $133,450 - $180,550

Responsibilities:

  • Leads Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in analyzing product development, complex producibility studies and production/tooling philosophies.
  • Refines, validates, coordinates and implements conceptual designs and manages the program architecture for build.
  • Develops manufacturing plans and oversees plan optimization. Conducts complex producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements. Resolves complex technical problems.
  • Serves as a project manager to ensure that contract requirements, specifications, design criteria and schedule performance are integrated and maintained.
  • Leads advanced design solutions and supports research of new product or business opportunities. Deploys company Lean Enterprise analysis methods.
  • Documents and communicates producibility best practices. Provides guidance to others through structured mentoring.
