JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Lead Manufacturing Engineer (Machining) is involved with the Engineering associated with developing manufacturing processes and documentation needed to meet Customer requests. The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will have a comprehensive in-depth understanding of complex and highly technical concepts specifications and drawings associated with Customer requests and the ability to translate these concepts into clear work direction for the machinists.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college ,(Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a machining environment)
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain clearance

Responsibilities:

In the role of Lead Manufacturing Engineer (Machining), you will:

  • Prior experience with machining (broaching, milling, turning, EDM, grinding, etc.) of high temperature alloys
  • Act as a leader on specific tasks that require a broad experience base
  • Identify plans to ensure technical requirements, costs, and schedules are met
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs
  • Create and issue detailed work instructions (router)
  • Interface with external organizations and supporting functions, to direct/coordinate the efforts needed to meet Customer expectations
  • Facilitate interaction with Customers and Machinists as needed to clarify Customer needs
  • Collaborate with management in setting realistic and challenge goals
  • Assist the Senior Manufacturing Engineer and/or Manager in planning work activity for the organization
  • Self-motivated to get the solution with reasonable amount of time and financial support
  • Develop new solutions under guidance and/or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organization
