Description:
In collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders the post holder will provide clinical leadership, strategic directions and motivation to key stakeholders and subject matter experts in the drafting and delivery of clinical pathways specific to cardiology.
You will lead the cardiology representation within existing work streams and projects aligned with the role, and be expected to identify and initiate further work streams to improve access to diagnostic tests, early diagnosis and adherence with evidenced based practice. The post holder will need to challenge organisational barriers to continually improve services necessary to meet the growing needs of our patient population.
As the clinical lead you will initiate, participate and contribute at management level to service development and initiatives. You will be a role model for the staff in the cardiology department and wider medical directorate teams, demonstrating a professional and proactive approach, providing expert advanced clinical practice, advice, training and education.
You will be responsible for working collaboratively with the local health economy to ensure patient’s experience the best possible care irrespective of the location within the PAH footprint. This will include ensuring that pathways are congruent with the desires of the GIRFT, NICE, New Hospital Programme and any other relevant national policy on care provision for the speciality.

- Act as a clinical lead for outpatient transformation and development for the service / pathways to best meet the needs of patients
- Lead development within the cardiology team to improve patient’s safety, experience and delivery of the quality agenda
- Provide specialist cardiology care expertise in a strategic role to the trust
- Ensures visibility of the role and clinical areas through engagement with frontline staff
