Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nurse to provide professional nursing support across Goodall Community services.
The role covers two main community service areas - Camden Adults and Children’s Community Services - Camden Children and Bi-Borough Children Services and CIS (Tri-borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham and Westminster).
As a result, the successful applicant will be expected to be highly visible spending time in each geographical area but focusing on areas that need the most support, and with an office base in Camden. We run inpatient wards in Camden and you will also provide professional support and visibility to the wards.
You will need to be self-motivated and able to manage your time in response to a range of competing demands. Provide leadership for clinical practice across the service in conjunction with the SMT and Divisional Director of Nursing with specific focus on the professional leadership of all nursing workforce within Goodall community services.
Advise the services management teams on professional matters relating to nursing and on steps that it should take in order to ensure that its nursing staff remain compliant with professional codes and relevant regulations
Provide clinical supervision as part of this system for senior nursing staff.
Work closely with the Trust medicine’s and governance teams to ensure safe and clinically effective systems are in place in relation to nurse prescribing and non-medical prescribing.
Chair nursing forums and groups relevant to the post and provide professional challenge to current practice, (including challenging the ‘status quo’) to drive on-going improvement
Ensure the development and implementation of appropriate policies and protocols appropriate to this role and take the lead where
Represent the service at external events on clinical practice in order to enhance the reputation of the Service and receive feedback on service delivery provided by clinical staff

To support the line management of nursing staff, (within specific areas of responsibility as identified above), and work closely with varying professional backgrounds that include: nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychology and health care/rehabilitation assistants.
To support teams to provide effective service delivery and ensure positive communication, promoting both multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working internally and externally to the organisation.
To act as a senior leader influencing staff to make change, ensuring that service improvements are sustainable across both professional and organisational boundaries.
To be a source of clinical expertise across the field of adult nursing services, by providing both general and specialist advice for clinicians delivering nursing interventions, on the full range of relevant issues including nursing aspects of risk assessment and management.
To work alongside key colleagues to develop appropriate and constructive relationships both within and external to the organisation.
To ensure that appropriate methods are used to ensure the inclusion of patient’s perspectives within service improvements.
To identify and lead on the delivery of productivity and efficiency savings within the specific areas of responsibility.
To work with the Head of Quality Governance and implement systems and processes to manage risk and ensure full compliance with internal and external governance procedures within the specific services.
To contribute to and participate in the annual business planning cycle.
To work as an active member of the Community Services Senior Management Team.
To deputise for the Assistant Director of Nursing as appropriate.
Prepare written and oral progress reports setting out progress in relation to the work and learning within the various services
