Responsibilities:
Wells Fargo is looking for a Lead Pega Developer to contribute to the activities of the Development staff that perform technical systems analysis, design, development, and maintenance activities to support our Payment Investigations applications built on the Pega Platform including Wires, Instant Payments and others. This is a technology leadership role and is responsible for defining the architecture roadmap and supporting the full life cycle software development process.
You are a Lead Software Engineer who will be in charge of driving the success of our client projects through your expertise in consulting, Pega architecture, and thought leadership. You will Lead project delivery, provide technical guidance, and mentor team members to ensure the successful implementation of solutions.
Specifically, this position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, which includes working with the company’s Pega implementation and integrations to other software and systems and having an expert understanding of the Pega Platform and supporting Pega Frameworks.
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact.
- Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines.
- This position requires the individual to support internally developed as well as externally purchased or developed applications as required by the business.
- The individual in this role is responsible for the technical implementation of solutions supporting business functionality.
- Work with multiple teams including, but not limited to, Product teams, different IT teams, QA, Release Management, Infrastructure, etc.
- Offer coaching and mentoring of the Pega Program to the other team members and other employees.
- Design and Development responsibilities with expertise on payment related applications on the Pega platform.
- Evolve & innovate tooling and techniques to accelerate development, testing and delivery lifecycles.
- Provide subject matter expertise and third line support to platform support teams for reported production issues.
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs.
- Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors.
- Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
- Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor.
Required:
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years of Payment Industry experience
- 5+ years of Pega PRPC Development, LSA (Pega Certified Lead Systems Architect) certification minimum
- 5+ years of RDBMS/NoSQL Development
- 5+ years active participation in Agile methodology
Desired:
- 5+ years of Java development
- 5+ years of Pega Smart Investigate for Payments (no other framework is relevant)
- 5+ years’ experience working with CI/CD (Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery) / EPL (Enterprise Pipe Line)
- 5+ years of Instant Payments / Wires / ACH or other payments specific experience.
- 2+ years’ experience with Test Automation and Performance Benchmarking tooling

Compensation for this role in Irving TX, Charlotte NC and Scottdale AZ is between $111,100 to $197,500 depending on experience and expertise.
