Description:

MAIN RESPONSIBILTITES Pharmacy Systems Administrator and Manager 1. Provide leadership and expertise in areas of service improvement and change management in relation to Pharmacy EPR systems 2. Communicate, in the most appropriate manner, complex technical and non-technical information, and sensitive issues to staff and suppliers 3. Respond to comment and complaint on Pharmacy EPR systems, resolving complex problems and dealing with unanticipated issues, escalating to the Lead Pharmacist EPR and Transformation and/or Chief Pharmacist where necessary 4.
Provide effective assurance reporting to key stakeholders, utilising data stored within Pharmacy systems to generate key performance metrics and translatable data insights 5. Use persuasion and negotiation skills to engage key stakeholders with complex and/or sensitive service changes in relation to process and/or service re-design and overcome resistance to change from staff (technical and non-technical) at all levels 6. Work collaboratively with senior Pharmacy leadership team to facilitate the delivery of the national agenda for Pharmacy services in accordance with the agreed objectives, including optimisation of digital medicines 7. Maintain knowledge and communicate any changes in national policy requirements, health records, data quality and data protection requirements to enable the development of appropriate systems to support the project 8.
Oversee and manage system upgrades, medicines database updates and pharmacy hardware refresh, ensuring business continuity and support of department and staff. 9. Develop the role of this post by demonstrating innovation and a critical approach towards pharmacy practice and medicines management thereby extending the boundaries of the profession. 10.
Lead large groups of staff at all levels within the organisation, ensuring they are engaged in activities to define, analyse and re-design existing business processes with a view to ensuring that they are efficient, effective, and measurable and contribute to delivering an improved quality service. This can take place through workshops, meetings, and one-to-one sessions. 11. Act as an exemplar in the application and utilisation of improvement methodologies and lean systems design.
12. Manage the change agenda with regard to any process improvement and incorporate appropriate recommendations within projects. 13. Identify and support necessary changes in the business process to allow for successful and safe integration of ePMA in each clinical area.
14. Manage Pharmacy systems and key hardware on a daily basis, providing support to the department in relation to any system/hardware issues that may arise 15. Lead the team of technical staff dedicated to maintain all Pharmacy IT systems, ensuring training and skills are kept up to date, SOPs are followed and regular audits are conducted. Leadership and Management 1.
Have management and leadership responsibility for staff within the Pharmacy EPR structure and/or Distribution, including supporting recruitment, staff development, managing performance, dealing with sickness and appraisal of staff recruited 2. Be responsible for upholding SOP standards relating to the Pharmacy IT systems and stock management by all Pharmacy staff and to conduct audits to ensure processes are followed correctly. 3. Be involved in Departmental, Dispensary and Distribution meetings to ensure Pharmacy staff are clear about EPR systems and update on any new developments, issues or change in policy/guidelines 4.
Periodically attend and feedback to the relevant governance committees, the status of Pharmacy EPR programmes (and at times represent senior Pharmacy management in these forums) 5. Provide effective leadership, expertise, advice and support to all wards and related team members involved in the use of Pharmacy IT software applications 6. Be responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of the risk and issues log and hazard log associated with the Pharmacy EPR systems, monitoring progress with the identified risk or issue owner 7. Escalate any identified risks as appropriate to the Lead Pharmacist EPR and Transformation, Deputy Chief Pharmacist or Chief Pharmacist.
