The Network Infrastructure products is the medium connecting different users, branches and datacenters together. Having a solid design and implementation ensures that all the banks services are delivered to our customers everywhere around the world at a cost efficient manner.
This role will focus on all Network products and will resume the end-to-end responsibility of the platform ownership across Emirates NBD Group. This role will be accountable for the overall platform operational stability and will lead the products’ engineering strategy and lifecycle. It will be also required to be up to date with the relevant product releases and continuously conduct research and development to carefully select the features that will require to be in the relevant products backlog.
The role will also play a key role in establishing, maintaining and enforcing standards that will ensure all connectivity standards are preserved despite continuous development and changes from the application and development teams, allowing agile delivery for all projects.

The Lead Platform Owner of Network infrastructure would be the daily direct liaison between the Head of Network & Security Platforms and the direct reports who are responsible for the Network infrastructure. An exciting role that requires the candidate to:

• Lead, mentor and manage a team of network professionals.
• Provide strategic and thought leadership to the team of engineers who are responsible for the Network products.
• Be accountable for the overall platform operational stability and lead the products engineering strategy and lifecycle.
• Lead the implementation of network solutions such as DC Network, WAN, LAN, cloud networking, IPSec tunnels, routing, switching, Open Networking, network automation, network observability, network monitoring
• Assist in keen oversight of the performance, stability, security, and operations of the network solutions engineered by the team.
• Be up to date with the relevant product releases and continuously conduct research and development to carefully select the features that will required to be in the relevant products’ backlog.
• Ensure the organization is adhering to security best practices and principles.
• Drive technical projects and take ownership and responsibility for the overall planning, execution and success of complex initiatives.
• Participate and partner with architecture and Information Security in the design and implementation of the network strategy.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to develop scalable and resilient solutions.
• Participate in the design, lifecycle management, and total cost of ownership of network solutions, applications and infrastructure services.

• Assist with on-call escalation and Level 3 support as needed.Influence standards and platforms for future application development.

Skills and experience required:-

• 10 years of experience at a relevant managerial position in large organizations
• Bachelor of Engineering or Computer Science or Equivalent
• Banking background
• Demonstrable Network Engineering experience achieved in an enterprise, service provider or technology environment
• Excellent technical knowledge in Routing and Switching Technologies
• Excellent technical knowledge in datacenter networking
• Excellent technical knowledge in links connectivity
• Excellent technical knowledge in WAN and LAN connectivity
• Excellent technical knowledge in WiFi Technologies
• Excellent technical knowledge in Network Access Control solutions (NAC)
• Significant transformation / migration experience
• Experience in software-defined networking (SDN) principles and knowledge of SDN technologies
• Experience with SDWAN technologies
• Experience with Open Networking and Open Source networking solutions
• Experience in cloud networking: AWS, Azure, GCP, OCP
• Experience with IPSec tunnels
• Network Automation: Python scripting, Configuration Management with Ansible, IaC (Infrastructure as Code), CI/CD Pipelines, NetDevOps
• Good knowledge with Network Monitoring and Observability solutions
• Good knowledge in virtualization technologies: KVM, VMWare ESXi, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes.
