ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced Lead/Principal Civil Structural Engineer to join our team, with the flexibility to operate from either our Brisbane or Perth office. In this capacity, you will provide exceptional technical expertise and leadership within a high-performing engineering and project delivery team. Your role will involve close collaboration with various engineering and technical disciplines on a prominent, industry-leading project, supporting our client in the successful and timely delivery of this fast-track initiative.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Civil/Structural Technical Lead on projects: the technical lead for complex and standard onshore civil/structural projects, working with multi-discipline teams to deliver energy projects in the region.
  • Perform checking activities for the full range of onshore civil/structural deliverables of both a complex and standard nature. Capable of high-level review of civil/structural deliverables for key technical risks.
  • Perform all work in accordance with the Kent Quality Management System and within agreed time and schedule constraints.
  • Contribution to the business development activity including client meetings, writing job bids and tenders as well as input into marketing efforts.
  • Contribution to the global technical best practice by sharing knowledge and lessons learnt with the global civil/structural community. Assist in developing and improving Kent’s internal practices and guidance.
  • Liaise with the other members of the engineering team and other disciplines to ensure all design requirements are addressed.
  • Liaise with the Global Engineering Centre in India and worldwide group of Subject Matter Experts for delivery of onshore civil/structural projects
  • Liaise with clients engineering, construction and operations personnel to ensure all project requirements have been addressed.
  • Address fabrication and site queries
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions and guide a project team. Ability to plan out structural/civil activities to meet the project schedule and manage the progress of deliverables.
  • To review any design work carried out by third parties particularly to ensure compliance to codes and standards
  • Contribution to the professional development program of the structural/civil team.
  • Develop and maintain awareness of changes in the relevant technology and design tools.
