We’re recruiting a Lead Product Manager, who will be responsible for delivering high-quality products that solve customer problems and create business value. In this role, you’ll mentor and coach your team members, collaborate with design and engineering leaders, and communicate with sales teams and customers to understand their needs and feedback. Your inputs will help refine the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Calibration product line.

About the role

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of product managers, providing feedback and guidance on their performance and career development.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the product management team, encouraging them to explore new technologies and methodologies.
  • Communicate the product vision and strategy to stakeholders and prioritise the product backlog and roadmap based on feedback, research, analysis, and business objectives.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success and impact of your products, while making informed trade-offs and decisions to balance the needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to refine product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, review and validate product features and functionality while providing feedback and guidance to the development team and create and execute launch and go-to-market plans, ensuring training is rolled out to sales channels, support, and others.
  • Conduct user research, interviews, surveys, and testing to understand user needs, behaviours, and preferences, while tracking and monitoring market trends, technology developments, and changes to legislation that may affect your products.
  • Create and implement product promotion plans and campaigns, tracking their effectiveness and ROI, support sales and marketing teams with product collateral, demos, presentations, and webinars, and answer questions and resolve product issues, sales queries, and customer complaints.

About you

  • Time-served and proven experience in a product management role, ideally within a technical/engineering environment
  • Ability to propose product strategies to both technical and commercial stakeholders to help form the direction of product development
  • Able to recognise customer needs, including end users and other Renishaw subsidiaries, to inform product strategies for the division
  • Proficient in keeping abreast of market analysis and competitor product offerings, to understand whether the product strategies are competitive
  • Comfortable engaging with stakeholders across all levels of the business, both internally and externally
  • Experience of managing, coaching, leading and developing a small team of product management professionals

Person specification
The successful applicant will be a technology enthusiast, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, analyse and adapt while remaining focused on the task. They will enjoy working within a team both locally and globally, with occasional international travel required. They will demonstrate strong organisational skills and attention to detail coupled with a pragmatic mindset enabling a balanced approach to problem solving.
