Description:
In Germany, Heat accounts for 50% of total end use energy consumption, of which over 90% stem from the burning of fossil fuels and biomass. Most of that heat is used for buildings, however, for 85% of buildings in Germany, currently no commercially competitive, clean energy source exists. Even with the current increase in gas prices, heat pumps need to become at least 20% more efficient in order to be cheaper than gas in these buildings.
We are on a mission to revolutionize the energy sector and are looking for an ambitious and innovative engineer to lead our cutting-edge “Proof of Concept” project. You will play a pivotal role in the implementation of our novel self-healing mechanism, which promises to make the thus far impractical energy-recovery in heat pump cycles possible, increasing energy efficiency by at least 20%. Your efforts will contribute directly towards making cleaner heating and cooling systems more resource-efficient and commercially viable.
As an Engineer at our company, you will lead project execution by leveraging your hands-on engineering skills, while also guiding a collaborative team of coworkers and service providers.
Tasks
Your Contribution to Our Mission
- You handle the Technical Product Management to generate clear requirements and testing procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations during prototyping while also staying fit-for-purpose and agile.
- You contribute hands on to the modeling and making of the prototype
- Refine our innovative mechanism for expansion regulation.
- Observe performance and cavitation effects under different conditions and parameters.
- Estimate product lifetime based on gathered data.
Your Responsibilities
- Oversee the Project Plan for the “Proof of Concept” Project and subsequent projects.
- Ensure efficient allocation of the project budget.
- Delegate tasks to suitable service providers, negotiate contracts, and manage communication to ensure project deliverables.
- Contribute hands-on engineering work where necessary to compile the collective work into finalized project outcomes.
- Document project results and ensure its integration with the overarching R&D Programme.
Requirements
What We’re Looking for
- A leader and motivator with an impact-driven mindset.
- Broad engineering prowess in CAD (particularly Autodesk Inventor), Mechanical Engineering, Material Sciences, and Project Management.
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
- Proficiency in Prototyping (CAM, 3D-Printing, assembly and testing).
- Experience in, and interest in learning more about, injection moulding, sealing technology, tribology, compliance, and safety.
- Strong problem-solving and resource management skills.
- Self-sufficiency and independence in work ethic.
- Minimum of 3 years of full-time work experience.
- Current work permit in Germany.
- Residing in, or willing to relocate to, Stuttgart.
- Availability to start from September or October.
Benefits
What’s in it for you?
- Be at the forefront of addressing one of the world’s most pressing issues in the energy sector.
- Opportunities to innovate and work on game-changing technologies.
- Enhance your project management and engineering skills through direct mentoring and development opportunities.
- Elevate your Career to the next level
- Collaborate with a friendly, driven team of professionals.
- Flexibility in work arrangements with a hybrid work setup and flexible working times.
- While we can’t compete with Bosch or Mercedes in terms of salary, we can secure comfortable living conditions and offer fair share opportunities based on the slicing pie principle. If successful, those shares will be worth far more than any established engineering company can offer.
Ready to join us on this exciting journey? We’d love to hear from you
