Description:
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Performs routine pre-award and/or post-award sponsored programs activities associated with management and oversight of the life cycle of awards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience OR combination of education and experience to equal 7 years
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Business-related degree, CPA or CPA candidate, CRA/CFRA/CPRA or candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Administer comprehensive post-award financial support for sponsored projects by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to provide guidance and ensure compliance with sponsor requirements. Offer purposeful and complete customer service related to managing sponsored projects, addressing issues or concerns that arise, and serve as the liaison between Accounting Services and assigned colleges.
- Initiate and manage financial transactions within the university’s financial systems. Monitor account records for accuracy and compliance, conducting assigned compliance reviews to identify and mitigate risks.
- Review and respond to sponsored project related requests, ensuring proper communication between campus offices and sponsoring agencies to provide innovative solutions. Ensure activities are in compliance with institutional policies and external regulations, addressing any risks identified during compliance reviews.
- Provide guidance and support to junior Research Administrators, fostering their development and contributing to the ongoing growth of the team. Engage in collaborative meetings, attend/lead external training sessions, and spearhead efforts to strengthen connections with the assigned college.
- Contribute to the completion of strategic initiatives for Research Accounting that align with the goals and mission of Accounting Services and Texas Tech University.
