ABOUT US
The Shoreline Power Group is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon, United and AtkinsRéalis located in Kincardine, Ontario. Shoreline Power Group is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program which replaces the main components of 6 reactors at the Bruce Power Nuclear Generating Station. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders as well as construction management and trade labor. This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064.
Under the direction of the Series Training Manager, the Training Series Lead will use their experience to lead the design, development and implementation of training activities for the FCFR staff for the assigned series. The Training Series Lead role is responsible for gathering of information and materials to support creation of a robust training program. They will be expected to provide direction and guidance to Project Coordinators in order to achieve the goal of training excellence. Following the ADDIE model, the lead training coordinator translates the datasets into the training needs analysis, designs the scope specific delivery methodologies, develops the training materials, facilitates implementation rollout with key stakeholders and captures/documents lessons learned and OPEX over the course of training. They must ensure the program is being delivered as prescribed in the field. They will be responsible to correct deviations when discovered.
Responsibilities:
- They may be required to create new processes in training to better facilitate delivery of materials.
- Perform training needs analysis for upcoming series
- Partner with stakeholders regarding employee training requirements
- Operate effectively with execution series lead and other SMEs to Identify content, standards, and gaps to be addressed during training
- Keep records of these meetings
- Submit TNA for review/approval by training managers.
- Must prepare and supply the following (non-exhaustive list); Overview, DLA, JPM, written assessment, training aids, reference material, know your tools books, course content etc.
- Liaise with subject matter experts to organize the relevant information for instructional design
- They will be required to report on this progress at regular intervals
- Design and vet material and references for use in the training of prescribed personnel
- Co-operate with the Execution series
- Participate in defining Pass/fail criteria.
- Formally review and participate in approval of training content and record keeping methods.
- Establish/define Milestones specifically for the assigned series training program.
- Report on their progress.
- Organizing the Labor from the prescribed department (onboarding, training and attendance) and liaison with the Trade General Foreman and onboarding departments to provide manpower as needed.
- Answer to attendance and schedule of prescribed personnel.
- Ensure prescribed personnel are reporting to training GF directly for daily training activities.
- Facilitate the documentation required for training during the delivery process
- Account for this process
- Ensuring the equipment is available and booked with adequate time to cover the program
- This will require communication with our B72 field staff and trades to ensure that sufficient equipment is available, and if not a procurement path is established
- Develop new solutions by calling upon a combination of experience, formal education, creativity, and other resources, and relationships
- Use resources from other vested partners to flesh out program gaps i.e. Historical NCR, Legacy inspections
- Maintain the schedule and resource plan for B72
