JOB DESCRIPTION

U.S. Bank is seeking the full-time position of Lead Software Engineer – Java & Microsoft Azure in Irving, TX.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and 5 years (progressive, post-baccalaureate) Full Stack software development experience using Java, Spring, React, Jenkins, Database, Kafka and Microsoft Azure.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: 1) Working on logical and physical database administration (DBA) and RDBMS including PostgreSQL and/or MS SQL. 2) Working with javascript frameworks including React.js and AngularJS. 3) Developing and deploying multi-tier business applications using Java/J2EE and Spring framework. 4) Working with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles including Jenkins/Cloudbees, Apigee and Kubernetes. 5) Working with cloud native development environment including Azure, AWS and GCP. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently.
This position is with U.S. Bank National Association, a U.S. Bank company.
Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $149,781 - $171,000.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for leading the analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of best-in-class software experiences, working specifically with Java, Spring, React, and Microsoft Azure. This role will take responsibility of the software artifacts produced for products including Loan Collateral Monitoring, and Tax Analysis under Wealth Management portfolio. Will adhere to U.S. Bank standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. Will work with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles. Specific duties include:

  • Assisting in project planning, estimating and resource allocation for products such as Loan Collateral Monitoring, Tax Analysis under Wealth Management portfolio; evaluate technical feasibility and potential risks of proposed projects;
  • Leading software development projects and providing technical guidance to the development team;
  • Decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward functional solutions, understand system inter dependencies and limitations; creating optimal design adhering to architectural best practices;
  • Making sound design/coding decisions to help enhance customer experience on Loan Collateral Monitoring application;
  • Analyze data and track metrics for Wealth Management applications and design for product upgrades and improvements
  • Working with Project Managers to create plans of action for new software;
  • Ensuring security standards are met to protect PCI and PII data for wealth management portfolio customer systems;
  • Designing and developing testing guidelines for performance, user acceptance and penetration testing for Loan Collateral Monitoring application;
  • Do proof-of-concept work on cloud technologies and analyze technical feasibility to implement and integrate latest Microsoft Azure cloud services across Wealth Management products;
  • Design back-end architecture using multiple technologies, utilize front-end technologies to build user interfaces;
  • Analyze data and track metrics using monitoring tools and plan disaster recovery and rollback exercises for Loan Collateral Monitoring and Tax Analysis applications;
  • Performing analysis on failures, proposing design changes, and encouraging operational improvements;
  • Participate in architecture sessions and contribute to enterprise architecture strategy;
  • Migrating existing Wealth Management legacy applications with latest technical stack; to build high performance and on-demand scalable applications;
  • Communicating processes and results with all parties involved in the Wealth Management product team, including engineers, product owner, scrum master, third party vendors and customers.
  • Works with the following tools and technologies: Java, Spring, React, Jenkins, Database, Kafka, Microsoft Azure, PostgreSQL, MS SQL React.js, AngularJS, Jenkins/Cloudbees, Apigee, Kubernetes, Azure, AWS and GCP.
