Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Are you passionate about a performant, dynamic and accessible web experience? We are on the hunt for a proactive, passionate, and highly collaborative lead engineer keen to take the next step in their career.
Do you want to work with prestigious and progressive organisations?
By helping steer our Umbraco practice, you will be responsible for producing best-in-class experiences for outstanding organisations such as Breast Cancer Now, Trussell Trust, Unicef and Parkinson’s UK.
You will be working in a multidisciplinary squad focused on agile delivery working alongside developers, quality assurance analysts and delivery managers to ship high quality code on time and within budget. Building innovative digital experience platforms based on Umbraco but working across a wide range of complimentary technologies such as Storybook to follow a component based approach to development, utilising libraries like React for highly dynamic user interfaces.
By joining manifesto, you will work alongside people who share an enthusiasm for technology, for an organisation that values technical quality at every layer, and one that will take an active role in training and improving your skill set.
The role can be based anywhere in the UK. We encourage you to work where you feel most effective. That may be at home, from one of our office hubs or a combination of both. The choice is yours. However you choose to work, you need to be comfortable working with your colleagues remotely. Some travel to client sites or occasional team meetings in the UK may also be expected for this role. This would be for ceremonies such as kick-off meetings, rather than on a regular basis.

Key responsibilities

  • Help define high-level architecture solutions to meet client requirements, specifying technologies and their integrations during project planning phases
  • Manage technical and support relationships with clients, ensuring proper team support and issue resolution
  • Help provide high-level architecture plans during the Foundations phase, including technology stack choices and integration strategies.
  • Develop broad plans for technical delivery, identifying key themes, risk levels, and delivery timelines.
  • Manage client expectations around agile delivery, ensuring clarity on deliverables at the end of each iteration.
  • Work with your engineers to lead the successful, on-time, and budget-compliant delivery of high-quality software solutions
  • Ensure squad members are fully engaged and actively participating in project activities throughout the development lifecycle
  • Oversee and ensure the execution of all Agile ceremonies, including standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives
  • Guarantee delivery quality meets or exceeds client expectations and adheres to internal standards
  • Foster a collaborative working environment where issues are raised early and resolved promptly
  • Support the growth and success of the Engineering Studio, promoting quality software engineering practices
  • Stay current with the latest tools, standards, and industry trends
  • Collaborate with principal engineers and the technical director to achieve studio goals
  • Produce technical content to raise the profile of the department
