Lead Software Test Engineer

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, with at least 2-3 years in a lead and senior tester role
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practice
• Experience with various testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, LoadRunner, Jmeter, Postman, SoapUI)
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE).
• Experience with agile and DevOps practices.
• Experience in performance and security testing.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Independent problem-solving skills and product focused way of thinking
• Good command of English
• Microsoft technologies (Windows infrastructure, IIS)
• Database basics (SQL/MSSQL)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

• Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases based on project requirements.
• Estimate testing efforts and resources required for various phases of the project
• Lead the execution of test cases, including functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of test results, defects, and quality metrics.
• Monitor and manage defect resolution, working closely with development teams to ensure timely fixes.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior testers and QA team members.
• Assign tasks, manage workloads, and ensure that team members adhere to testing standards and processes.
• Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, encouraging continuous learning and improvement.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and clarify expectations.
• Participate in project meetings, providing insights and updates on testing progress and issues.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Define and implement test strategies to ensure thorough coverage and alignment with project goals.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in testing tools, methodologies, and technologies.
• Maintain and update testing documentation as needed to reflect changes in requirements and processes.
• Document test plans, test cases, and test results for reference and auditing and training purposes.
