JOB SUMMARY

This incumbent oversees financial reporting, statutory compliance, and full sets of accounts while ensuring alignment with IFRS and local regulations. The role manages audits, tax filings, and J-SOX compliance, collaborates with Shared Services, and maintains the SAP system for accurate records. Additionally, the role handles funds management, banking matters, and develops policies to streamline processes and ensure regulatory adherence.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Finance, Accountancy, ACCA, or an equivalent professional qualification (CPA preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a Regional Headquarters and Trading Business environment.
  • At least 2 years’ experience managing full sets of accounts.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership experience in directing, evaluating, and developing a team of financial professionals to ensure credible financial planning, accurate reports, and timely recommendations.
  • Experience in regional accounting.
  • Proficiency in English; Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with the external financial community.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the Shared Services (SSC) team managing GL, accounts payable/receivable, revenue, and asset accounting to ensure efficient daily and monthly closing processes.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of accounting functions and reports in compliance with IFRS and other reporting standards.
  • Oversee the preparation of full sets of accounts up to closing, ensuring reporting deadlines to HQ are met.
  • Manage annual interim and final audits, annual return reporting to ACRA, and corporate tax filings.
  • Lead local statutory reporting processes, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including tax and financial transactions.
  • Review quarterly GST submissions to IRAS and provide support on tax matters.
  • Handle fixed asset management.
  • Manage funds for forward contracts, deposits, or loans as required, and liaise with banks on all banking matters.
  • Oversee maintenance of SAP system master data and creation of accounting records, with support from SSC and IT staff.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to comply with HQ J-SOX requirements for closing tasks and control processes.
  • Manage J-SOX compliance for the Singapore legal entity.
