Join us as a Lead STMS at our Timaru branch!
We are looking for an experienced and motivated STMS to help lead the Fulton Hogan Traffic Management team in Timaru. In this role, you’ll see yourself responsible for delivering temporary Traffic Management to both internal and external clients.
In addition to the above you will:
- Supervise temporary traffic management on various worksites in line with current codes of practice.
- Set up and remove traffic sites following TTM Plans.
- Ensure the health and safety of you, your team and the public.
- Maximise daily productivity of your team while ensuring a high quality of work.
- Effectively communicate with the work site foremen to ensure smooth operation.
- Foster a safe work environment by educating junior staff on traffic management safety regulations and emergency procedures.
For the right candidate, this role can provide optimal opportunity for growth in the Traffic Management space. With a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and upskill, you could be provided with opportunities to mentor junior staff, utilise organisational skills to coordinate the team and ultimately assist with the successful management of the department.

We’re looking for someone with:
- A Full Clean Class 2 Drivers Licence
- STMS Cat A/B qualification.
- The ability to read, understand and implement Traffic Management Plans
- A comprehensive understanding of CoPTTM and the change to NZGTTM
- A proactive approach to health and safety – its our #1 priority
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Flexibility around travel out of town and working hours.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to upskill and continue growing a career in traffic management.
