At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Company, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.
Directly reporting to the Supplier Quality Casting Commodity Leader, as a Supplier Quality Engineer you will support suppliers’ selection through qualification processes, will own supplier results and drive improvements utilizing supplier scorecards audits and ensuring compliance.
You will participate to Kaizen events which involve the casting business as technical expert, and you will be part of the development/improvements of new/legacy parts.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree in Mechanics or Materials/Chemical engineering with metallurgical orientation
- Investment Casting process knowledge
- Proven experience in the same role in Automotive or aerospace industries
- Ability to read fluently technical drawing and regulations
- Basic knowledge of Quality tools
- Base knowledge of measurement method and inspection technique
- Fluency in English
- Availability to frequent travel, EU and abroad
- Work Visa and Italian Citizenship in accordance with local regulation is required
Responsibilities:
- Includes both Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development
- Act as primary interface between supplier and GE Avio Aero for any quality issues. Work in collaboration with Sourcing and Engineering, Manufacturing to eliminate roadblocks and barrier. Develop compliance solutions to complex problems. Lead RCCA process
- Approve supplier selection through robust qualification processes and part qualification
- Ensure that suppliers comply with quality requirements, including technical regulation and standards by owning the surveillance and perform quality audits
- Proactive monitoring of the performance of suppliers to ensure that they remain in a state of control
- Leading the effort to drive improvement and for the development & assessment of quality metrics, KPIs and reports associated with suppliers
- Participate to new source introduction assessment providing technical support to Sourcing team and APQP execution when it is needed

- Propose technical solutions to suppliers and design team
