JOB SUMMARY

The UX/UI team plays a pivotal part in the design of our product suite, working collaboratively with users, such as medics and medical staffing teams, as well as internal stakeholders, including product, development, testing and operational teams, to deliver intuitive, user-centred designs that optimise satisfaction and engagement across our NHS user base.
In this role, you will lead the cross-platform design team, responsible for understanding user needs, defining and streamlining user flows, creating wireframes and prototypes, designing intuitive interfaces, conducting usability testing, and iterating on designs based on user data and feedback.
You will take the lead design role for our flagship solution, TempRE, used to manage temporary staffing for over 60 trusts across England.
As team lead, you also will inspire, guide and support the UX/UI team, driving continuous improvement to deliver a world class user experience for our NHS stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience in mobile / web experience in UX/UI
  • Some experience of working in a team in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to pick up a brief quickly, ask questions early and often, and use evidence/research to challenge us and our clients on key design and UX decisions
  • The ability to balance multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and an analytical, inquisitive mind that welcomes new challenges
  • Persuasive written, visual and interpersonal communication skills, with an ability to speak the language of business, product and technology
  • Responsive / Adaptive web design experience
  • Figma and Adobe XD experience

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the UX / UI design team, providing guidance and support
  • Cultivate a culture of team collaboration through discussion and the sharing of ideas and best practice
  • Work with operations, product team and clients to develop a clear understanding of the product suite and user journeys
  • Own and continue to improve the standards by which we develop and approach UX / UI across new and current solutions, including style-guides
  • Work with the tech, testing and product teams to ensure adherence to approved designs and standards
  • Strengthen all phases of the design process, including research, conceptual design, prototypes, visual design and usability testing
  • Utilise user feedback, data and analytics to improve design and user experience, delivering user-centric solutions
  • Attend client meetings to take briefs and present design concepts
  • Propose, sketch out and prototype where appropriate a range of high-level visual concepts, including use of A/B testing to validate design choices and measure impact
  • Understand what users want, what is viable for the business and what the technical constraints are for a given project
  • Work closely with the product and development teams to make product roadmap and feature prioritisation decisions
