SUMMARY

The Lead UX / UI designer is responsible for leading the design and development of our online self-service and mobile app experiences. As part of the Product Management team, you will work closely with the extended product management team, as well as marketing, technology and outside contractors as needed, to deliver on designs that are informed and inspired by customer insights as well as practical considerations for utility and efficiency. This role reports into the Director, Product Management.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Certificate in User Experience Design or comparable experience.
• 5+ years of web / responsive design experience.
• 3+ years of experience designing for iOS and Android native platforms.
• High proficiency using Figma and other design, research and prototyping tools.
• Experience with overseeing translation of Figma designs to functional frontend components.
• High level of user-centric design focus, via user research, usability testing (A/B testing, customer validation, etc) and a passion for creating clear, intuitive and accessible user experiences that are consistent across platforms.
• Strong skills in design thinking process that considers a service design approach to all projects.
• Experience leading contractors / freelancers in design deliverables, with accountability for tracking, prioritizing, and meeting deliverable timelines.
• Excellent project management, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for staying abreast of developments in design tools and methodology.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing and rapidly evolving organization.

• Provide UX and UI design designs for our self-serve portals and iOS and Android apps.
• Complete UX research to understand customer preferences, define customer personas, and to validate designs and concepts.
• Utilize insights drawn from customer feedback to support design decisions.
• Lead the creation of design thinking assets such as sketches / breadboards, wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and final designs.
• Use and contribute to design-token driven atomic design system as well as native app UI libraries.
• Contributes to documentation and service design assets to support the handoff and post-launch phases of the design thinking lifecycle.
• Track and report on progress of deliverables within design sprints, while prioritizing deliverables to effectively manage sprint scope.
• As required, oversee contractors, including hiring, project definition, allocation of tasks, and mentoring.
