Description:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Wireless Network Engineer with a strong background in designing and troubleshooting advanced wireless networks using platforms such as Aruba, Commscope, Ruckus, Extreme, and Meraki. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Wi-Fi implementation and troubleshooting and will serve as the lead engineer for a team of 30 lower-level infrastructure engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Advanced Wireless Network Design and Deployment:
- Design, plan, and implement advanced wireless networks utilizing Aruba, Commscope, Ruckus, Extreme, and Meraki platforms.
- Lead complex Wi-Fi deployments, ensuring optimal coverage, capacity, and performance across various environments.
- Conduct advanced site surveys using tools such as Ekahau or AirMagnet to ensure accurate wireless network planning and execution.
- Troubleshooting and Optimization:
- Serve as the go-to expert for troubleshooting advanced wireless network issues, including interference, connectivity, and performance problems.
- Optimize wireless network configurations to enhance performance, security, and reliability.
- Provide tier 3 support for complex wireless network issues that require expert-level attention.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor a team of 30 lower-level infrastructure engineers, providing guidance, training, and support on wireless network design and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate wireless networks with existing wired infrastructure and ensure seamless network operations.
- Oversee the implementation of best practices and standard operating procedures for the engineering team.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement and manage wireless security protocols, including WPA3 and RADIUS, across all wireless platforms.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for wireless network designs, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Provide regular reports on network performance, incidents, and project progress to senior management.
- Certifications:
- Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE) or Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP).
- Cisco Certified Network Associate Wireless (CCNA Wireless).
- Relevant certifications in Aruba, Commscope, Ruckus, Extreme, or Meraki platforms are highly desirable.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Wi-Fi implementation, design, and troubleshooting, specifically using Aruba, Commscope, Ruckus, Extreme, and Meraki platforms.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing complex wireless network projects.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Expertise in using wireless network analysis tools such as Ekahau and AirMagnet.
- In-depth knowledge of wireless standards (e.g., 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and best practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills.
