Salary range: The salary range for this position is CAD $54.16 - $77.86 / hour Why Fraser Health?:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Leader, Allied Health Education to join our team. This role is pivotal in leading the strategic planning, design, implementation, promotion, evaluation, and maintenance of processes, infrastructure, and resources related to our programs across Fraser Health.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an approved clinical health profession with a Master’s degree in that health profession, health administration, education, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of recent, related clinical experience, including at least 3 years in education, clinical leadership, and/or operational roles within a complex healthcare environment.
  • Progressive experience in clinical practice, education, research, project management, and leadership.
  • Current practicing registration with a relevant allied health regulatory college and/or association in British Columbia.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the strategic planning, design, and implementation of assigned programs.
  • Develop and establish standards, policies, protocols, and processes for program delivery.
  • Chair relevant committees and conduct continuous quality improvement reviews.
  • Evaluate and monitor program success, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external organizations, including the Ministry of Health, academic institutions, regulatory bodies, and unions.
  • Implement change initiatives, including new programs and revised policies.
  • Develop and evaluate program objectives, performance metrics, and corrective actions.

SUPPORTING THE VISION, VALUES, PURPOSE AND COMMITMENTS OF FRASER HEALTH INCLUDING SERVICE DELIVERY THAT IS CENTERED AROUND PATIENTS/CLIENTS/RESIDENTS AND FAMILIES:

Leads the strategic planning/design, implementation, promotion, evaluation, and maintenance of the processes and infrastructure related to assigned Fraser Health programs including, but not limited to transition programs (employed students, new graduate, internationally educated health care professional and advanced practice education for health professional training programs. Accountable for the outcomes of these programs and ensures that evidence-based best practices across Fraser Health are used to support effective processes and professional practice. Develops standards, services and organizational policies for the design and delivery these programs, leads large system change, and manages assigned staff and budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the strategic planning/design, implementation, promotion, evaluation and maintenance of the processes, infrastructure, and resources related to the assigned programs across Fraser Health.
  • Provides leadership by reviewing, developing, and establishing standards, policies, protocols and processes for the design and delivery of programs. Leads applicable committees and conducts continuous quality improvement reviews of programs ensuring effective implementation of quality improvements.
  • Evaluates and monitors the success and outcomes of programs and works to ensure that programs/initiatives reflect leading practice in the industry, evidence-based practice, and provincial and federal professional regulation.
  • Collaborates and liaises with internal departments such as Talent Acquisition & Onboarding, People Information and Systems, People Strategies, Human Resources Consulting, clinical programs, site/work locations, networks, and external organizations such as Ministry of Health, Ministry of Post Secondary Education Future Skills, academic institutions, regulatory bodies, unions, other health authorities.
  • Leads the implementation of change initiatives including new programs, and new or reviewed policies, protocols, and processes. Develops and evaluates programs’ objectives and performance metrics, outcomes, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborates with new graduates and transitioning health care providers, as well as their point of care leaders, to provide practice leadership that supports transition, retention, healthy practice environment, and safe quality care. Ensures and facilitates effective communication processes among various groups and program participants/target audience.
  • Leads the development of competency based regional education strategies and action plans and resources in consultation with operational and practice leaders.
  • Manages assigned employees including hiring, orientation, coordinating team activities, performance evaluation, coaching, training, discipline, and dismissal.
  • Prepares and manages assigned budget to reflect the ongoing needs of the portfolio and within departmental guidelines and Fraser Health standards.
  • Oversees the functionality of the related website and ensures that contents are complete and current, easily accessed, and meet the developed criteria.
  • Creates a prioritization system for new education or transition support in new practice settings, based on criteria such as safety and risk.
  • Monitors practice and education trends, identifies opportunities for improvements that support the consistent transition of healthcare providers to practice. Evaluates policies, guidelines, and tools/resources that could be considered for use at Fraser Health.
  • Represents department on regional, provincial, and external agencies, committees and projects and fosters effective linkages with other organizations.

Qualifications:
Graduate of an approved clinical health profession with a Master’s degree in that health profession, health administration, education, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
A minimum of 7 years of recent, related clinical experience inclusive of a minimum of 3 years of experience in education, clinical leadership and/or operational experience in a complex health care environment including progressive clinical practice, education, research, and project management and leadership experiences.
Current practicing registration with a relevant allied health regulatory college and/or association in British Columbia.
