The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Workshop Leading Hand to join our Mackay team. This role will be responsible for the supervision of workshop staff and ensuring all matters relating to repair, build or rebuild of components are completed. This position ensures the workshop area is maintained in accordance with requirements. Supervisory responsibility for day-to-day operation and performance of the Service workshop, including assisting the Supervisor and Workshop Manager with staff performance, training, and skill sharing. This includes but is not limited to the delivery of high complying standards in quality and safety in line with COR Cooling’s work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and QA standards.
Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct all activities in a safe manner whilst adhering to policies, environmental management systems and statutory regulations and alerting others regarding potential concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to the Quality Assurance system.
  • Comply with all company policies, standards, specifications, and systems
  • Take reasonable care to protect their own health and safety and the safety of others.
  • Present themselves for work in a fit state
  • Operate any equipment which they have the experience or training to work.
  • Perform their duties to the best of their ability;
  • Turn out work of a consistently high quality with minimal rework;
  • Carry out reasonable instructions given by your supervisor.

About You

To be considered for this position you will ideally have:

  • Supervisory and team building skills;
  • Experience with Pronto
  • High Risk Work License – Forklift and Dogging;
  • Mechanical and/or radiator knowledge (preferred);
  • Minimum 4 to 8 years’ experience in a similar role;
  • Previous experience working in mining / manufacturing industry (preferred).
